The Metropolitan Room will host the first ever Metrostar Talent Challenge. The contest, which begins in July, is a talent competition for singers, who will be judged by a live audience and eliminated on a weekly basis. The challenge begins July 7th.

The New York City Opera has commissioned an opera based on the film Brokeback Mountain. The opera is scheduled to premier in 2013.
