2008 06-11 Broadway League - Bloomsday On Broadway - Williamstown Theatre Festival

The Broadway League released their 2007-2008 end of season statistics, which show both a decline in paid attendance and grosses. Last season 36 new productions opened on Broadway, compared with 35 from the 2006-2007 season. These stats take the 19 day stage hands strike into account. If the strike had not happened, analysts believe all time records for both box office grosses and attendance would have been set.

Marian Seldes, along with Stephen Colbert, Fionnula Flanagan and Frank and Malachy McCourt, will take part in the Symphony Spaces 27th Annual Bloomsday on Broadway June 16th. The event will feature readings from James Joyce’s Ulysses.

The Williamstown Theatre Festival kicks off its season June 11th in the Berkshires and runs throughout the summer. This season will feature performances by Kate Burton, A Catered Affair’s Tom Cavanagh, and Tony winner Julie White. Visit WTFestival.org for a complete list of shows.
